The Dutch Gambling Authority, Kansspelautoriteit (KSA), has strengthened its Advisory Board by appointing two new members, Prof. Dr. Ingmar Franken and Marjolein Hoogland. Their appointments return the Board to full capacity, with each serving a three-year term.
Prof. Dr. Franken is a full-time professor of Clinical Psychology at Erasmus University Rotterdam and heads the Centre for Addiction and Substance Research, bringing valuable expertise in addiction and psychological research. Marjolein Hoogland is the National Chief Advocate General of the Public Prosecution Service of the District Court of The Hague, with previous roles including Deputy Chief Prosecutor.
The Advisory Board, led by Chair Anita Vegter, provides both solicited and unsolicited advice to the KSA, playing a key role since its creation in 2014. The recent appointments mark a significant step in reinforcing the Board’s capacity to advise the regulator effectively.
